Consular
Registration & Citizenship
It is advisable and is provided
for in the laws and relevant regulations
of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the Azerbaijani
citizens who are either resident in or visiting
Japan or other certain countries to register
their presence with the Consular Section
of the Azerbaijani Embassy or Consulate
in the relevant country.
The registration will allow the consular
officers to keep in touch with the Azerbaijani
nationals when they are overseas and provide
consular assistance in the event of an emergency,
to assist Azerbaijani citizen or permanent
resident in case if their Azerbaijani identification
documents were stolen or lost, to identify
their citizenship relation with Azerbaijan
in order to they will be able to return
to Azerbaijan or for other immigration issues
within the Japan as may be necessary.
The registration will also allow us to keep
in touch with you on a regular basis via
emails, to inform you on any events to be
organized for the Azerbaijani community,
to keep you informed of the news from Azerbaijan.
If you are resident in or visiting Japan,
you should register your presence either
by mailing or visiting in person.
Please note, the registration with the Consular
Section of the Azerbaijani Embassy or Consulate
in the relevant country will in no way burden
or obligate you to do any action or activity,
nor compel the diplomatic mission or consulate
of Azerbaijan to take any measures in respect
to you, unless it is agreed with you to
do so or required by the law. Moreover,
in accordance with the Law on information
and other regulations of the Republic of
Azerbaijan your personal and family status
information, as well as information on your
whereabouts may not be released to inquirers
without your expressed authorizations.

an original of passport, a copy of passport
pages (3 copies of vital pages) and also
a notarized copy of social security and
green cards. If the documents are submitting
in person no need notarization procedures
(make sure you put prepaid envelope to return
your passport) and mail it to the following
